I understand about who we fall in love with, but our socialization teaches us consciously or unconsciously based on our environment to choose the "lighter" Black woman, the one that's closest to whiteness because we see it in ads, in movies, magazines, Children's books etc. Imagine if we saw no lighter-skinned people then we would be celebrating only dark skin. So this is a conscious effort we all have to make to not only celebrate Black beauty but to elevate it. 🙏🏽
