Racism is Dead:

“Let’s move on.”

“Racism died a quick death when segregation and Apartheid ended. There is no racism. Racism is kept alive by Black and Brown people who fail to move on and accept that we are all equal.”

The above is often said to Black and Brown people when they encounter racism. So let’s examine this, shall we?

* Being called a derogatory name such as the N or K word is an endearment and displays “fondness” white people for us. It’s not racist unless we react negatively.

* “Karens,” coming at you, being rude and abusive or calling the police on Black and Brown people is not racist-This happens because they care about what happens to us and how we thrive in the environment.

* When Black and Brown people get paid less than their white counterparts for doing the same or more work, it is because we don’t know how to work with lots of money or because our monthly expenses are less than theirs. It’s their way of budgeting for us- so we do not end up in financial trouble.

* When a white man attacks young Black or Brown boys, we should understand that it’s their method of discipline to teach our young men not to become juvenile delinquents.

* Murdering Black and Brown people when they jog, walk, drive, and so on- is white people’s way of warning us that we need to watch where we go because there are bad people in this world. We should see it as a practical exercise to ensure the rest of us lead healthy lives.

* Should white people comment on our hair or dress it is their way of teaching us how to be “proper.”

* Not wanting Black and Brown children to attend primarily “white schools” should be viewed as their concern for our children in case they are traumatized by seeing white children.

* Denying Black and Brown people from entering a “white-owned” establishment should be “viewed” as their willingness to spare us embarrassment in case we don’t know basic etiquette, like table manners.

* White people who do not want Black and Brown people as neighbours are anxious that we may not know what to do when we close doors or gates.

* If strange white men abuse Black or Brown women, it is that we need to learn to “act like a lady” and be submissive to their authority.

It is crucial that we, as Black and Brown people understand white people’s level of concern for our well-being. So concerned are they that they form alt-right groups to educate us on how the world should work.

Their anxiety for our welfare and their “love” for us drive them to traumatize us in horrific ways — even if it requires them to actively seek us out in our homes or places of worship- this “love” should be seen as beneficial to us.

Yeah, right!!!

Alternatively, the few examples above are your pure, unadulterated, garden-variety racism — nothing more and nothing less. Denying racism exists to appease those who “sit on the fence” is foolhardy. Crying for a peaceful existence whilst heinous acts are committed is beyond evil, and ignoring it and asking Black and Brown people to “move on” places us in the direct line of fire.

White people who want peace should set about dismantling, not distancing themselves from the racists that flourish within their homes and communities.
