I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's so infuriating and demeaning. I think sometimes it's intentionally said to "put you in your place." It's said to make you understand that no matter how educated or decent you are, you're still "beneath" those racists. The assumption though that all we are good for is manual labour!!! I wish we lived in a better world. Thank you for reading and responding. I appreciate it
