Allison, as a CRT practitioner, I feel this deserves more than 50 claps. The theory is not as complicated as conservatives purport it to be.
In fact, if understood and taught, correctly white people will understand that in a way this negatively affects them too, but they would rather focus on one aspect and blow it out of proportion and that is that globally white people are racist. Instead of doing some critical thinking and deep diving, the entire sentence becomes personalized and wrongly individualized, and individual racism is but a small part of CRT.

I agree when you say, "Bring a counter theory," and this has been my point too. We can't be acting like 2-year-olds throwing our toys when we don't like something. That's where critical thinking comes into play.
